TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PARTICIPATION IN MONIEWORLD REFERRAL PROGRAMME
These terms and conditions constitute the entire agreement between you as a Participant (defined below) and Moniepoint Microfinance Bank Limited (“Moniepoint MFB”, the “Bank”, “We”, “Us”) in respect of the MonieWorld Referral Programme (defined below).
Moniepoint MFB may at any time and in its sole discretion, without prior notification terminate, modify, or suspend your access to and participation in the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
Please read these Terms (defined below) carefully as they form an agreement between us, and they apply when you participate in the MonieWorld Referral Programme. If you do not agree to any of the provisions in these Terms please do not participate in the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- DEFINED WORDS AND THEIR MEANINGS
- A Referral Invite is sent by the Referrer to a Referee who has not previously started signing-up for the MonieWorld Service.
- The Referee signs-up and is successfully onboarded on the MonieWorld Service with the Referral Invite.
- The Referee initiates a transfer or transfers to meet a minimum transfer sum defined by MonieWorld, to a beneficiary other than the Referrer.
- Successful remittance of the Referee’s mentioned transaction(s).
- The Referee initiates one or more transfers to meet a minimum transfer sum specified by MonieWorld.
- Any other condition set by MonieWorld, communicated in writing by the Bank to the Referrer.
- PARTICIPATION IN THE MONIEWORLD REFERRAL PROGRAMME
- Moniepoint MFB may for a specified timeframe offer its Customers on any account plan the opportunity to earn Rewards in the form of cash credited to their Moniepoint MFB Account for referring Invitees to sign-up for the MonieWorld Referral Programme subject to such Referees performing set Qualifying Events
- A Customer who has received an invitation to the MonieWorld Referral Programme directly from Us on a banner in the dashboard of the Bank’s Mobile Banking Application (an “In-app Referral Invite”) is eligible to refer an Invitee. We may send communication to the email registered to your account with the Bank, setting out requisite information about the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- The MonieWorld Referral Programme will be available for the Referral Programme Period specified in the In-app Referral Invite. Rewards will only be paid if all Qualifying Events have been met by a Referee during the Referral Programme Period.
- To be entitled to earn a Reward, you must at all times while participating in the MonieWorld Referral Programme strictly comply with these Terms, all information included in the In-app Referral Invite, and Moniepoint MFB’s Account Terms.
- As a Referrer, upon receipt of an In-app Referral Invite, the following steps must be completed:
- invite a person domiciled in the United Kingdom to sign-up for the MonieWorld Service by sharing your Referral Invite which can be found in the Mobile Banking Application.
- each Invitee must successfully complete all Qualifying Events for you to be eligible to earn the applicable Reward.
- We will confirm the maximum number of people you can refer as part of the MonieWorld Referral Programme in the In-app Referral Invite. If you refer more people than this, you will not receive any Reward for these additional Invitees even if they complete the Qualifying Events successfully.
- The amount of the Reward is unique to you and will be paid in NGN. All details regarding the amount of the Reward for each referral will be set out in the In-app Referral Invite.
- We may in our sole discretion specify a duration for payment of Rewards, and any Reward earned will be paid directly to your Moniepoint MFB Account. Provided that your Moniepoint MFB Account is not restricted or suspended, you shall be permitted to transact with the Rewards earned, subject however to the Bank’s applicable transfer fees.
- To be eligible for a Reward, you must have an active account with the Bank (meaning that your Moniepoint MFB Account is not restricted, suspended, or closed) throughout the Referral Programme Period and at the time We are due to pay the Reward into your Moniepoint MFB Account.
- We may confirm in the In-app Referral Invite when you can expect to receive any Reward you are due as part of the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- As a Referrer, you shall ensure to:
- obtain the consent of an Invitee to whom you intend to send the Referral Invite;
- copy and send to an Invitee your unique MonieWorld Referral Invite to enable the Invitee to sign-up for MonieWorld;
- inform an Invitee that you may benefit from the referral and future transactions they may perform on MonieWorld; and
- not directly or indirectly pressure, exert any undue influence, or become a nuisance over anyone who does not wish to become an Invitee. An Invitee’s sign-up to MonieWorld must be entirely discretionary.
- By participating in the MonieWorld Referral Programme, you agree and understand that:
- your entitlement to any Reward is based on the availability of the MoineWorld Referral Programme during the Referral Programme Period, and at the sole discretion of the Bank;
- you may only invite family members and friends of good moral and legal standing, with whom you have an existing personal relationship, and whose consent you have obtained prior to sharing your Referral Invite with them;
- any Reward earned is exclusively for your sole use and cannot be transferred to anyone else; and
- you shall bear all liability for any violation of these Terms, applicable laws, regulations or data protection breaches without further recourse to the Bank, or Moniepoint GB.
- We reserve the right to reverse any Reward(s) credited to your Moniepoint MFB Account if we become aware that you have breached these Terms, or if the Referee breaches MonieWorld’s terms of use. We will consider the reversal of any Reward to have been done with your consent and the payment to have been authorised by you.
- If we believe that you have engaged in any fraud or material abuse of the MonieWorld Referral Programme, we may also in our sole discretion take any actions we deem fit in the circumstances. For example, it would be a material abuse of the MonieWorld Referral Programme to orchestrate a campaign to profiteer from the referral programme in a way that does not result in genuine and unique new sign-ups to the MonieWorld Service, and so in addition to reversing any Reward(s) we may also close your account with the Bank.
- We may change, suspend, or end the MonieWorld Referral Programme earlier than the end of the Referral Programme Period if, in our reasonable opinion, the MonieWorld Referral Programme is being abused, or may negatively affect the Bank’s goodwill or reputation, or due to unforeseen circumstances which may make it impossible for Us to continue running the MonieWorld Referral Programme. We may suspend or end the MonieWorld Referral Programme on an individual or referral programme-wide basis.
- If we need to change, suspend or end the MonieWorld Referral Programme before the end of the Referral Program Period, we will try to give you notice through the Mobile Banking Application and/or email. The Bank will not be liable for any loss, whether directly or indirectly suffered where we are unable to continue running the MonieWorld Referral Programme as planned. Please contact Support if you believe you qualify for a particular benefit in relation to the MonieWorld Referral Programme that has not been awarded to you as a result of early suspension or termination.
- By participating in the MonieWorld Referral Programme, you confirm that you understand that any Reward(s) may be subject to local income tax in the country of your residence and/or in the local territory where you are tax resident. It is entirely your responsibility to pay any tax which may arise from receiving any Reward(s). The Bank will bear no liability for any tax obligations which may arise from your receiving any Reward(s) as part of the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- You consent that by participating in the MonieWorld Referral Programme, the Bank may share your personal data with Moniepoint GB for the facilitation and payment of Rewards due to you. Any personal data processed or controlled during the MonieWorld Referral Programme will be dealt with in line with our privacy policy which can be accessed here- https://moniepoint.com/ng/privacy-policy.
- MONIEWORLD REFERRAL PROGRAMME RESTRICTIONS
- The MonieWorld Referral Programme is only accessible by Customers of Moniepoint MFB and on a one registration per Customer basis tied to the Customer’s applicable Moniepoint MFB Account.
- All Qualifying Events must be fully fulfilled prior to applicable Rewards becoming due and payable to a Participant.
- If two or more Referrers invite the same Invitee, only one Referrer will be eligible to receive a Reward, and this will be solely determined by the Bank referring to the Referral Invite used by the Invitee during sign-up.
- The Bank reserves the right to void any Qualifying Event or payment of any Rewards that:
- violates these Terms, and applicable laws; or
- appears to be fraudulent, or created as a result of a fraudulent transaction.
- It is highly prohibited and illegal for a Participant to abuse the MonieWorld Referral Programme by using multiple identities, logins, registrations, and/or any other method solely determined by the Bank as abusive, and at the Bank’s sole discretion, such acts will void any Rewards ought to have been received, and deem a Participant disqualified from further participating in the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- The Bank does not guarantee a delivery time on any Rewards granted, however the Bank shall use its reasonable endeavours to pay Rewards earned within a period of two (2) to (3) Business Days from the date of such Reward becoming due.
- LIABILITY
- To the fullest extent permissible by law, in no event shall the Bank, and/or Moniepoint GB be liable to you or any third party for any damages arising from your participation in the MonieWorld Referral Programme, inclusive of (but not limited to) special, indirect, incidental, punitive and/or consequential damages, even if We have been advised of the possibility of such damages. The Bank’s and its partners’ maximum aggregate liability to any Participant and third-party shall at all times be limited to the lesser of the Reward due for such claim or ₦50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira Only).
- All warranties, express and implied, regarding the MonieWorld Referral Programme and a Referees use of the MonieWorld Services are expressly disclaimed (including without limitation, any warranties of merchantability, non-infringement of intellectual property, and/or fitness for a particular purpose). The Bank makes no representation or warranty with respect to any results obtainable through the MonieWorld Referral Programme or the timely delivery of Rewards associated therewith.
- If you act unlawfully and/or do not comply with these Terms, you will be responsible for any expenses, loss, damages or costs that We incur as a result, this may include paying any legal costs We incur as a consequence of your actions (“Losses”). If any Reward is due to you, We reserve the right to deduct such Losses before paying the balance to you. We may also require you to return any Reward already paid to you that We reasonably believe relates to your unlawful and/or non-compliant activity(ies).
- GENERAL
- We may amend the MonieWorld Referral Programme or these Terms from time to time, and we will publish such changes in the dashboard of the Bank’s Mobile Banking Application.
- We reserve the right to terminate the MonieWorld Referral Programme at any time, and We will notify the Participant of such termination and the remaining period within which the Participant may access the MonieWorld Referral Programme.
- These Terms shall at all times be subject to the Moniepoint MFB Account Terms, and in case of a conflict between these Terms and the Moniepoint MFB Account Terms, the terms of these Terms shall prevail to the extent of such inconsistency only.
Defined terms used in these Terms shall have the meanings specified in this clause:
Business Day | Any day from Monday to Friday, but excluding public holidays declared in Lagos, Nigeria from time to time. |
Customer | Any person who has subscribed to, or uses any services provided by Moniepoint MFB as detailed in Moniepoint MFB’s Account Terms. |
GBP | British Pounds Sterling. |
Invitee | Any person domiciled in the United Kingdom who has been invited by a Participant to sign-up for the MonieWorld Service. |
Mobile Banking Application | Moniepoint MFB’s personal banking or business banking application (as applicable) accessible to Customers. |
Moniepoint GB | Moniepoint GB Limited, an affiliate of Moniepoint MFB. |
Moniepoint MFB Account | A Customer’s personal or business account (as applicable) into which Rewards will be paid for each successful referral. |
Moniepoint MFB Account Terms | Moniepoint MFB’s General Terms and Conditions for Account Opening accessible via the link on the Bank’s sign-up page. |
MonieWorld Referral Programme | Moniepoint GB’s referral programme which allows Participants to earn Rewards for a Referee’s successful sign-up to the MonieWorld Service, and subsequent fulfilment of Qualifying Events, made accessible to Moniepoint MFB’s Customers by the Bank. |
MonieWorld Service / MonieWorld | The MonieWorld money transfer service, electronic money account, and card issuance service distributed by Moniepoint GB which allows a person domiciled in the United Kingdom to send GBP to a recipient domiciled in Nigeria, and is subsequently remitted in NGN. |
NGN | Nigerian Naira. |
Referee | A person that signs-up for the MonieWorld Service pursuant to a Referral Invite sent from a Participant. |
Referral Invite | An alphanumeric code or URL link used by the Referee when signing-up to the MonieWorld Service. |
Referral Programme Period | The specific timeframe during which the MonieWorld Referral Programme will be available. |
Reward | The NGN cash amount that is payable into a Referrer’s Moniepoint MFB Account pursuant to the MonieWorld Referral Programme. |
Participant / Referrer | A Customer whose Referral Invite has been used by a Referee when signing-up for the MonieWorld Service. |
Terms | These Terms and Conditions for Participation in the MonieWorld Referral Programme. |
Qualifying Conditions | The fulfillment of the following mandatory conditions: |
