Moniepoint MFB Statement on EMAAR Investment Scheme

by Moniepoint MFB

Moniepoint MFB is aware of reports concerning a fraudulent investment scheme operating under the name "EMAAR," which occurred across different financial institutions and has impacted several Nigerians. We deeply empathise with those affected by this unfortunate incident.

Upon detecting suspicious activity patterns consistent with fraudulent structures in October 2025, we took immediate action to deactivate and flag the account associated with the merchant "CreditB-24H," which was reportedly used by the scheme's promoters. To date, all of the reported cases and claims that were backed with the requisite paperwork have been refunded, and the scheme promoters have been placed on a watchlist and blacklisted. The security of our financial ecosystem and the protection of our customers remain our highest priorities.

We wish to assure all customers and the public that Moniepoint remains a safe, secure, and fully regulated financial institution operating in strict compliance with Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) guidelines. We maintain industry-leading Know Your Customer (KYC) protocols and cutting-edge transaction monitoring systems with a zero-tolerance policy toward illicit activities on our platform.

We have handed over the details of these perpetrators to law enforcement agencies so that they can dealt with in full accordance with the law. For affected individuals who transferred funds to flagged accounts, we encourage you to report the incident through our official channels at [email protected] or visit any of our offices.

We also urge the public to exercise caution with investment opportunities promising unrealistic returns, always verify firms with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) before investing. Moniepoint remains committed to providing secure financial services and ensuring our platform remains protected against fraudulent activities.
