Some great news. Moniepoint has secured an investment from Visa, a global leader in digital payments, to continue our mission to create financial happiness for every African everywhere.

Given that about 83% of African employment is in the informal economy, our goal is to widen access and participation in the formal financial system and drive economic growth across Africa. Visa is a company that shares this goal. This investment marks an important milestone in our collective pursuit of advancing financial inclusion and shaping the future of digital payments while fostering SME growth across Africa.

We’ve experienced remarkable growth as a team, spurred by our devotion to using technology to create tools and services that solve business problems. We extended our reliable solution to individuals, which has solidified our place as the financial ecosystem that helps businesses on the African continent grow. Currently, we process over 1 billion transactions monthly, with total payment volume exceeding $22 billion, enabling businesses to digitise their operations and thrive in Africa’s rapidly evolving economy.

Visa’s expertise in global payments and Moniepoint’s proven ability to serve African businesses make this partnership an exciting opportunity to shape the continent’s economic future. We are delighted to collaborate with Visa to enhance the digital payment infrastructure, expand financial services, and foster innovation in Africa.

We’re truly excited about this partnership and what it means for payments on the continent. As the fintech landscape continues to evolve rapidly, driven by a dynamic ecosystem and a focus on bridging the financial inclusion gap, we’re excited to usher Africa into a new age of payments.
